Travis
Betz has always had an affinity for
the strange and horrifying, His unique brand of off-kilter humor
led him to writing, directing and performing in a versatile range
of productions from edgy one-act plays, to a slapstick musical comedy
and a regular writing gig with the sketch comedy group, Ten Cent
Wings. For two years Ten Cent Wings regularly entertained Hollywood
audiences in such venues as The Comedy Store and Improv Olympic.
Their infectious dark humor formed a bond that soon become too big
for the stage and spread to the world of film with the production
of a few short films before the inevitable leap into feature films.
joshua marks the filmmakers
first feature length film, delving into the haunting world of three men dealing
with a secret that even
the Devil would scoff at. Shot on Super 16mm, the film is currently in post-production
and due for completion in 2005 The follow-up to joshua,
Potter's Field, will be
the next installment on a trilogy of films taking place in Bisbee, the same fictious
town as joshua. Currently
Travis Betz is working with Fly High Films to develop the next installment of
the Bisbee trilogy, Potter's Field.
